This is not about an insurance claim, but about a vacation home mortgage application. The mortgage department at USAA was the worst! Our application package was passed around to four different people in the mortgage department. It supposedly went back and forth to the underwriter with more bits and pieces being requested each time. Most requests were for items sent weeks prior. The lawyer's office kept asking for updates and said that 'USAA did not answer repeated calls' and 'when they finally called USAA was rude'. We have excellent credit, a full down payment ready, excellent salaries but USAA has made us feel cheap and violated. I told my husband to fire them and we are now going to pay the fee for a mortgage broker. It is definitely worth the price to be treated with respect.
