Do Not Insure with AMICA

Posted by Anonymous on April 26, 2010

AMICA is a great insurance company as long as you are not of the Jewish faith. My family maintains several properties, the first is insured by AMICA and the second which has been in the family for many years is located in another state and is separately insured. The second property was broken into where many family religious books of the Jewish faith and written in Hebrew were viciously destroyed. The first property was set on fire shortly after the break-in and the evidence seems to point to the individuals that destroyed the Judaic books in the first house. AMICA has suggested that members of my family actually set the first house on fire deliberately and refused to discuss the hate crime aspect of the case. AMICA hired a construction firm to secure the damaged property after the fire, but the job was so poorly done that the house was broken into and this time burglars took the copper pipes, despite our repeated pleas to AMICA to improve the security of the house. Now, however, AMICA wants a $500 deductible for the original work done to secure the property. It has now been five months since the fire and AMICA has still not settled the claim and the house remains unlivable and vacant. My family has already involved federal officials to investigate the inter-state nature of this crime including the ATF and FBI, but we expect no cooperation from AMICA If you are Jewish and insured with AMICA then you might want to think twice before doing so.
