Allstate ruined my life

Allstate insured my home for 20 years. A no-fault, policy-covered fire occurred in the house in 2001 that destroyed about 70% of the structure. Their initial offer for repairs amounted to about 1/3 the cost of what third-party professionals said was necessary. Seeing that I would need help, I engaged a private adjuster to interface with Allstate's case manager (a clearly overworked person) only to face significant additional delays and intransigence. Instead of responding in good faith, Allstate dug-in, forcing legal action that required significant additional time and expense. I learned from my attorney that Allstate is the most litigious company in our state (PA) and this is their usual approach in cases where they think they can squeak out of paying what they promised in their policy. The effect of their irresponsibility caused years of hardship, destruction of my marriage over related financial woes, and loss of my residence for almost 6 years. You're NOT in good hands with Allstate!
