- When I first Joined USAA around 1995 (You join because it is an association) they were the premier insurance company in the nation for price and customer service. You couldn't beat them on any product. Fast forward to the present however, and USAA is on a downward spiral. Their prices have increased, while their customer service is steadily decreasing. - Well, I just could not help myself after I have read several others about adverse repercussions they have experienced with USAA auto insurance. After being a member with USAA for 30 years, and having their auto insurance which is unusually expensive I will cut to the chase and tell you guys to contact Auto Owners for their rates are much lower with more benefits than USAA and USAA will tell you that as well. - The reason I am fairly rating USAA (based in San Antonio) only one star is because there was not an option to rate them no stars. My wife and I have been members(in Good standing" with USAA for 30 years now much to our dismay. In 2010 my wife and I refinanced with USAA as we have done before several times without issue. - The Totals adjusters are rude, arrogant, pushy, degrading, and provide false information to coerce you to settle. Bully tactics. Customer service is very poor. Rarely do they return calls. - Two claims in the family over the past 2 years. The 1st claim, other driver admitted complete fault. Repair facility that USAA recommended failed to repair the car completely. USAA was notified and never followed up or responded to our multiple calls and e-mails.
2nd claim other driver stated at the scene that she didn't know if her light was green because she was lost and looking at her phone for directions. more...
- Well we filled a claim over a month ago and we are still waiting for our representives manager to "make a decision." I am not sure what the decision is that has to be made. We have wind and water damage from a storm. Not impressed and we have 5 insurance policies with them. We have started to look elsewhere. more...
