- Well, I just could not help myself after I have read several others about adverse repercussions they have experienced with USAA auto insurance. After being a member with USAA for 30 years, and having their auto insurance which is unusually expensive I will cut to the chase and tell you guys to contact Auto Owners for their rates are much lower with more benefits than USAA and USAA will tell you that as well. more...
- This company is in one word - incompetent. They have terrible lines of communication, with one "team" not communicating with the other "team". My claim was one disaster after another, having been made to feel as though I was dishonest and trying to commit fraud by submitting a legitimate claim. The damage to my vehicle was deemed wear and tear, although my vehicle was in perfect working condition prior to the collision with a deer, and not safe to drive after I hit the deer. Then when it took the adjuster 8 days just to get out and look at my vehicle, USAA instructed me to return my rental vehicle before mine was repaired, because my time was up. They can't communicate, they have no respect for customers, they immediately assume the worst in a situation, have never heard of customer service or loyalty, and have left me emotionally and financially drained. - I was a USAA customer for 10 years, my wife for 20. We had never once filed a claim with them until I had an accident. They simply refused to honor the policy I had with them, outright refusing to pay to repair either vehicle involved in the accident. A quote for Auto insurance was given to me at a rate 50% higher than any other quote I received from other 3 other companies including GEICO and Progressive, for comparable coverage. - If you can qualify USAA is one of the top companies in the industry. They have great rates and excellent service. The only drawback is their use of non factory (aftermarket) parts for repair of vehicles over 2 years old.(most companies do this or worse).
